Sony PlayStation VR 2 Headset – Potent Specs Confirmed!

It’s been well known for quite some time now that Sony has been planning the release of a brand new VR headset that would look to provide the best experience possible on the PlayStation 5’s potent hardware. In terms of details, however, to date, things have been kept rather quiet. – Following a report via Eurogamer, however, the full technical specifications of the now confirmed (and not entirely imaginatively named) PlayStation VR 2 headset have appeared online and, at least in theory, it could very well represent one of the most impressive consumer virtual reality products ever created!

Sony PlayStation VR 2 Headset

We should note that it is still a significant amount of time before Sony is expected to officially launch the PlayStation VR 2. Following the release of a video showing an upcoming Horizon spin-off utilising the new headset, however, it does seem likely that a release will happen before the end of the year. And based on the reported specifications, this is going to be an amazingly beefy VR product and a huge leap from the original model.

When Will We Know More?

Although entirely guesswork based on the information provided to date, we would expect Sony to officially launch the PlayStation VR 2 at some point in the Summer with a release date likely set for around September-November this year. – With such amazing potent specifications, however, it does clearly create a question as to exactly how expensive this new VR headset is going to be. Personally, I wouldn’t expect this to cost less than £300, and, as you’re probably more than a little aware, that’s not far off the total cost of a PS5 itself.

For next-generation consoles, however, this could well prove to be the definitive VR gaming experience, and who knows, it might even manage to give even some of the most impressive PC models a strong run in the chase for graphical glory!
