Sony have unveiled their latest nifty creation – the WG-C20 portable wireless media server that is styled to replicate the Xperia Z1 smartphone. Measuring in at 14.4 x 7 x 0.9 cm the WG-C20 allows users to hook up SD cards and USB devices and then share those via NFC or 802.11 b/g/n WiFi. The WG-C20 is designed for wireless streaming of photos and films and is DLNA compatible. The USB port is capable of supporting most external hard drives as it can output 1.5 amps.
Sony also claim the WG-C20 is capable of bridging any internet connection to split that into multiple devices. When not being used for any media server capabilities the device also doubles as a mobile charger with its 1.5 amp USB output port and 3000 mAh battery. The first time you connect to the device it directs you to the Google Play Store page of the app required to use it.
Sony will make the WG-C20 available from November 2013 in white, black and purple.
