Sony to Compensate PlayStation Plus Users After PSN Outage

Sony has announced how it will compensate users for the 24-hour PlayStation Network outage that prevented PlayStation players from accessing their games. The company stated, “All PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive an additional 5 days of service.”
Sony also took the opportunity to apologize once again, saying, “apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience,” while confirming that all network services are now fully operational.
PlayStation Network Outage Frustrates Players
The PlayStation Network outage occurred for reasons that Sony has not yet disclosed. Naturally, many players expressed frustration, especially since the issue happened over the weekend, when many were looking forward to playing.
Some users criticized Sony’s communication, noting that the company did not provide any updates until the problem was resolved. Others used the situation to joke about how things were better when physical game formats dominated, emphasizing the downside of digital-only access.
Compensation Controversy and Call of Duty Players’ Frustration
Despite the compensation, some players are not satisfied because the five-day extension only applies to PlayStation Plus subscribers. Many users who buy digital games but do not subscribe to PlayStation Plus also faced issues accessing their games, but they are not receiving any compensation.
Call of Duty players were particularly upset because they missed out on double experience points events for Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 over the weekend. However, in this case, Sony is not responsible for issuing compensation, as the final decision lies with Activision Blizzard, which was not at fault for the outage.
