Sony Unlikely To Bring The Xperia Z1 To The USA Any Time Soon

Sony’s CEO Kaz Hirai has been speaking to the press about Sony’s plans for expanding their smartphone sales in the U.S market. Currently Sony have quite a weak presence in the USA with the bulk of its sales, around 60%, come from Europe and Japan.
“Our biggest priority is maintaining our share in Japan or increasing it … But getting into the U.S. market requires a lot of resources and marketing, so we have to go one step at a time” said Sony’s Kaz Hirai.
Of course what that statement suggests is that Sony is in no rush to plough straight into the U.S market with an aggressive launch of all its latest Xperia handsets. The new Z1, Z1 Ultra and Z1F would all sell very well in the USA but Sony thinks the initial cost of setting up shop in the USA would just be too costly at the current moment in time.
Yet with all that said EVLeaks recently published an image of the Xperia Z1 with the T-Mobile USA branding – maybe they could be going into the U.S market after all?
