Sony has just made Xperia A2 official in Japan. We are familiar with Sony’s practices of launching devices in the country before teh US and Europe markets; Sony has launched it exclusively with Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo. Some of the smartphone’s features can lead you to think of it as flagship, but the rest will just define it as high-end at best.
Specifications of the Sony Xperia A2:
- 4.6-inch 720p display
- 9.1mm thickness
- 129 grams
- 16GB storage (expandable up to 128GB)
- 2GB RAM
- Quad core Snapdragon 800 SoC
- Android 5.0 Lollipop
- 2,600 mAh battery
- 4G LTE connectivity
- IPX5,8 / IP6X certification for water and dust resistance
Xperia A2 sports a bit dated HD (720p) display which is sensible considering the size of the panel is just 4.6″ so pixel density won’t be hurt as much. It boasts, reportedly, the same shooter as witnessed in Xperia Z1, a 20.7 MP Exmor RS sensor and carry all the water and dust resistance capabilities as found in Sony’s Flagship devices. It will be available for purchase starting next month in various color variants like Grey, Pink, Blue and White.
We currently do not have any more information on it global launch, but we will keep you up to date as soon as we do.
Thank you Sony for providing us with this information.
