When Sony and Guerrilla Games launched Killzone: Shadow Fall on the PlayStation 4, the Japanese giant giant promised that it was running at 1080p. Well, keen-eyed gamers noticed it wasn’t, after which it was revealed the first-person shooter’s multiplayer component was actually running at 960×1080, and not 1920×1080 – half the horizontal resolution is a big, big misleading advertisement.
Judge Edward Chen rejected Sony’s request to dismiss the lawsuit because one of the counter arguments was “either ignore important factual allegations… or they require this court to construe the complaint in the light most favorable to Sony.”
One of Sony’s counter arguments was accepted by Judge Chen, but this counter argument hasn’t been disclosed yet. The case is now in the hands of the plaintiff, which has 30 days to change his claim and proceed on with the lawsuit.
