Spectator Rushes CS2 Tournament Stage, Gets Tackled and Trophy Gets Obliterated

The PGL Major Copenhagen Counter-Strike 2 tournament took place yesterday, and as you can see in the videos posted to social media, a man ran down the elevated walkway towards the main stage. Running towards the stage, the players and most notably in this instance, the trophy, he puts his arms up as if to celebrate. Then it seems that a group of security tackle him, and in doing so, falls into the trophy stand, knocking it over and smashing it to pieces… top work lads.

However, it now seems that this was no mere random incident, but an actually planned stunt by Counter-Strike skin betting platform CSGOEmpire, who later took to X to say “Some of our men are on the ground in handcuffs,” and “But we f***** did it, boys.” This was apparently a protest of sorts against the alleged “scam” by their competitor CSGORoll, in what seems to be a running beef between the two parties based on their previous blog posts.
My Kick got taken down when the heat started.

Some of our men are on the ground in handcuffs.
But we fucking did it, boys. https://t.co/aFMHsaV8ox
“These malicious competitors have engaged in a hate campaign against us, and claim that we are running ‘scam websites,'” the site said. “We do not know their motive, but we suspect that it is a personal vendetta, based on a grudge and is designed to try and harm our business and gain a competitive advantage for themselves.”
How in all bloody hell this was meant to resolve or protest such issues is utterly beyond me though, seems like a stupid plan that was both poorly executed and achieved nothing but booing from the spectators, and no doubt the players, and the organisers of the event, who have contacted the police and will be pressing charges.
Our event experienced an attempted disruption.

We temporarily halted the match to ensure everyone's safety.
The individuals involved were removed by the police.
We will be pressing charges against the disruptors.
This has also led to people pulling out of the upcoming CSGOEmpire Cup as a result of their own stunt, and has led to some seriously strong opinions, as you might imagine.
Fuck your tournament, we're out you fucking scumbags. https://t.co/9uoTKD8mbl

I would like to make clear that I was contacted about the CSGO Empire Cup over a month ago to cast their event, including the grand final. As a result of tonight’s events I will be pulling out with immediate effect. https://t.co/hrbzi23L4x

So uhm, yeah, they trashed a show and didn’t see how this might hurt their reputation and upcoming events… weird, huh?
