A Closer Look

Immediately, we can see that the Decus Respec is a great looking mouse, with a lovely deep red top panel contrasting with the hard-wearing black grips on the left side.

This is a right-hand only mouse, but comes with a large wing shape on the left, giving your thumb a comfortable resting position and easy access to the two side buttons. There’s some fin-like strips on the side too, which are LED backlit, giving the mouse a little extra visual flair.

On the right, even more of those LED fins cut in towards the back, and a few deep curves cut into the front that form the finger rests. The ergonomics look quite extreme, but feel pretty comfortable and are great for improving your overall control and long-term comfort during those marathon MMORPG sessions.

Both the LMB and RMB are heavily scooped out too, giving your fingers a nice recess to rest in, giving all four fingers and your thumb their own groove, so there’s little chance of this mouse slipping from your grip any time soon.

There’s a large scroll wheel in the middle, with soft rubber grip for added control, while also having a nice light bump when turned and it’s clickable too, giving you one extra button to toy around with. Behind that, another switch is there for changing DPI, but as with all the other buttons on this mouse, it can be reprogrammed in the software. There’s just one more button too, just to the side of the LMB on its own little wing, which is great for rapid fire, macros, or anything else you desire.

Around the back, there’s more LED lighting through those funky lines that run over the top of the mouse. Here you can also see just how extreme those ergonomic curves are.

On the base of the mouse, you’ll find four large slipmats, which are needed as the mouse has a large surface area on the base and this will help reduce unwanted drag. You’ll also notice a twist-lock cover on the base.

Remove the cover and you’ll find 4 x 4.5g weights, allowing you to tweak the weight of the mouse to suit your taste; lighter is great for twitchy shooters, heavy makes things smoother and more fluid, but that’s subjective of course.
