Fans of Final Fantasy 16 eager to see the game on Xbox consoles will have to be patient a little longer. Square Enix recently confirmed its plans to release the game on Xbox, but the company has not shared a specific release date.
Speaking in an interview, producer Naoki Yoshida expressed hope and encouraged players not to give up on the prospect of an Xbox version, but made it clear that no concrete date is available.
Yoshida mentioned, “Looking towards the Xbox version, we do want to release it on Xbox.” While there is excitement surrounding this statement, he also clarified that there are still technical issues being addressed to ensure the game runs smoothly on different systems. The producer added, “It’s not as if there’s zero hope…players should not give up in terms of their hopes.” This news follows Square Enix’s growing multi-platform strategy, which aims to bring more games to various platforms, including Xbox and potentially the next Nintendo console.
Even though there’s no set release date yet, it’s clear that Final Fantasy 16 on Xbox is part of Square Enix’s broader push to move beyond PlayStation 5 exclusivity. For now, Xbox players just need to hang tight and keep an eye out for more updates from the developers.
