https://www.eteknix.com/category/square-enix/Square Enix just made a big announcement during their 2017 PlayStation Press Conference in Japan. An accompanying teaser trailer for ‘Left Alive’ shows the iconic game developer’s take on a survival action shooter. This is not just any survival action shooter game of course, since the teaser video also shows massive mech’s being flown by helicopters.
If that is not enough to excite you as a Square Enix fan then be glad to hear that Metal Gear character designer Yoji Shinkawa is on-board the project. Joining Shinkawa for the directorial post is none other than Toshifumi Nabeshima. He is bringing his experience from Armored Core and Chromehounds into the new mecha shooter game. Also onboard is Takayuki Yanase, whose character design resume includes work in Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and Xenoblade Chronicles X. Needless to say, Square Enix is bringing out the big guns to make this the mecha game to play.
The teaser trailer otherwise does not show much, but the devastated view of a city should give an idea of the in-game scenes. It is a survival action shooter after all, so expect the landscapes to be war-torn or desolate. The game itself is not due to hit the PC and PS4 until 2018. More details are still forthcoming. Although the official Steam page for Left Alive is already up.
