Even though it’s still far off from an official single player campaign, it seems that Star Wars: Battlefront will receive an offline mode very soon. According to Lead Designer of Star Wars Battlefront, Dennis Brannvall, this new “Skirmish” mode will become available on July 20, and it will allow you to test your skills offline against bots during a solo mission. You will be able to choose your desired difficulty during Skirmish, and the available combat modes will include Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron.
“With multiple locations that span the galaxy, from the frozen planet of Hoth to the lava encrusted planet of Sullust, we hope Skirmish brings players a new way to enjoy Star WarsBattlefront.”
This summer, DICE plans to introduce several new additions to Star Wars: Battlefront, including log-in reward opportunities, open trials to experience Bespin and more Hutt Contracts for new weapons. As we mentioned before, many gamers are eagerly awaiting the introduction of an official single player campaign for this game, but it’s not likely that this will happen anytime soon. Until then, however, it’s good to see that DICE has not given up on Battlefront and that it is still willing to add new content in order to keep the gaming experience fresh.
