Star Wars: The Force Awakens is predicted to smash box office records and has already amassed $50 million in advance ticket sales. Furthermore, Fandango told Variety that The Force Awakens is the biggest pre-seller in the company’s history. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film’s pre-release sales are twice the amount of the previous record-holder, The Dark Knight Rises. Additionally, MovieTickets.com, reported that advance sales for Star Wars are the highest on record. As you can see, tickets are selling incredibly fast as Star Wars fans desperately try to attend the film’s launch.
Cinemas are even considering to offer more seats and judge how much room they can allocate to avoid disappointment. As the first Star Wars film by Disney, there is a great deal of pressure to produce a film which lives up to the original trilogy. As a result, it’s quite easy to leave people disappointed as meeting their extremely high expectations is a difficult task. Nevertheless, Star Wars: The Force Awakens looks fantastic from the official trailer and I cannot wait to see how well it’s received by the public.
Are you planning to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens on release? I’m tempted, but usually prefer to watch films from the comfort of my living room.
