Disney has just released the official trailer to Star Wars: The Force Awakens which is scheduled for release on December 18th. The future of Star Wars seemed rather bleak considering the prequels’ poor reception by critics. It was a surprising revelation when George Lucas handed over the iconic series to Disney and allowed them to continue the story.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ trailer doesn’t contain any spoilers and the plot is a complete mystery. Although, the main character appears to be a Rey, played by Daisy Ridley. People have speculated that she is Han Solo and Princess Leia’s daughter. The new antagonist is called Kylo Ren and is seen with Darth Vader’s disfigured mask. From the initial footage, it looks like there is a huge amount of fan service throughout the movie.
The trailer’s reception has been overwhelmingly positive according to social media and I cannot wait to see the full release. As a huge Star Wars fan, I find the trailer quite exciting and I’m fascinated to see how the film ties-in to the original trilogy. It’s hard to believe the original cast have returned and modern technology should help set everything on such a grand scale.
There are some negative comments from a select few regarding the choice of actors and CGI effects.
