Those of you who enjoyed StarCraft: Brood War back in its glory days will be particularly happy to find out that Blizzard is likely to release an HD remaster of this classic real-time strategy game in the near future. It’s worth noting that we are talking about a rumor here, one that was started by a Korean online publication named inews24. According to this publication, the HD remaster for StarCraft: Brood War will be announced in September, which means that we should be hearing more about this project relatively soon. The news was apparently confirmed by several sources, including a Blizzard insider, but we’ll definitely have to wait for an official confirmation from the developers in order to know for sure.
As far as the remaster itself is concerned, it will likely include improved visuals and a better user interface, and even though some of you will say that Brood War doesn’t really need a remaster because it’s already a fantastic game, I certainly wouldn’t mind playing it again in a more modern setting. A while ago, we showed you a certain Blizzard job post, which suggested that some of the company’s older games will receive HD remasters, and it certainly looks like that rumor was true.
