I could be wrong, but it feels like the Steam concurrent player count record has been broken more often in the last couple of years than it has in the prior ten! – Any way you look at it though, PC gaming is definitely having a bit of a golden spell at the moment and with Steam undoubtedly representing the most popular (or at least prevalent) means of doing so, we daresay that they’re enjoying seeing these user figures continue to go up and up!
Coming just under a month since the last time the concurrent player count on Steam was broken, however, following the latest update to SteamDB, if you were playing something on the platform over the weekend, you likely haven’t just broken the record once. You’ve probably done it twice!
The new record was initially set on Saturday afternoon (November 26th) with just over 31.3 million people all playing games on the platform at the same time. Less than 24 hours later, however, on Sunday afternoon at circa 1:30 PM, this saw this prior record not only beaten but absolutely smashed!
With 31,865,897 people all playing games at the time, this broke the prior record, which as above was only set the day before, by a whopping circa 400,000 people!
So, if you’ve been playing Steam this weekend, give yourselves a pat on the back as not many people can say they broke two records in one Weekend!
