Steam Next Fest is Live With 700 Demos!

Looking for something to play this weekend? How about over 700 demos of upcoming titles? That’s a heck of a lot of demos, and they just got added to Steam as part of their Steam Next Fest celebration. Valve launched the event so that PC gamers can access a vast array of demos. Of course, timing this just after E3 is great, as we’re all hungry for new titles after so many announcements.

Next Fest

Of course, don’t expect all of these to be something like Grand Theft Auto 6 or the next Battlefield. A lot of the titles are from indie or less established developers, but a quick skim through the list, and there’s certainly more than enough cool and interesting titles. Plus, from the landing page, there are “oodles of livestreams”, their words, not mine. They’re not kidding either. There are four streams on while I write this and a couple more within the next hour!

There’s certainly something for everyone, though, with games ranging from 2D puzzlers and complex city builders, right up to full-price RPG titles and even some VR content too. While they are just demos, if you can’t pick a game to play this weekend, a few random titles from this event should certainly kill a few hours.

Cave Digger 2: Dig Harder VR

Cave Digger 2: Dig Harder is a VR adventure game for 1-4 players, taking place in an alternative, weird west dieselpunk world. The player excavates the mountains of their claim, and encounters many mysteries along the way. The North is cold and the Frontier guards its secrets well!

TERRA NIL

Terra Nil is a reverse city builder about ecosystem reconstruction. Turn a barren wasteland into an ecological paradise complete with different flora and fauna. Then clean up, leaving the environment pristine. Subverting the builder genre, Terra Nil is about the restoration of a ravaged environment.
