SteamGuard Denies Access To Customers

Over the weekend some Steam users were affected by a glitch in the Steam Client when they had SteamGuard activated, preventing users from accessing their Steam accounts and all of the games that they own. SteamGuard is a function that users are able to use in order to protect their accounts from unauthorized access. A two step process for access on unauthorized systems or website access. Sending a code to the users email, so that they are able to verify they are authorized to access the account. Unfortunately this has affected users making them unable to access their accounts. Steam has yet to comment on this issue other than responding to customers via email when they file a support ticket. Personally I formatted my hard drive over the weekend and steam was one of the first programs that I tried to install. I have contacted steam several times over the weekend, and I received another response from them again today
“Hello,Over the weekend there was a known issue with Steam Guard e-mails being delayed. We have addressed this issue and most users are now receiving their e-mails as intended.”
Do you feel that Steam should issue a public statement as to the issue. Letting customers know that there is an issue and they are working to rectify the situation as quickly as possible? I feel that they are issuing a standard response email, and not paying attention to our concerns. Perhaps they should even deactivate SteamGuard until the issues have been resolved. Let me know in the comments below. Should Steam do something to make this right for the customers?
