SteelSeries 5H V2 Limited Edition (Medal Of Honor) Headset Review

Final ThoughtsWhile this is not the best gaming headset out there, the general performance of of the headset is very good. It is certainly built well and will be durable and there are no major flaws with the design. The sound quality, especially of the bass, is very good and a pleasure to listen to. The headset is also extremely clear when it comes to down to voice clarity which is a key feature during gaming.
The design of the microphone, that it can be retracted is a brilliant feature, I don’t feel it is really necessary and others like Tritton have gone for the fully removable microphone approach. However it does mean the microphone is always there ready to turn on and use. Another good feature is that the headset can be split into 3 pieces making it easier to transport and less likely to get damaged during transit. This makes them a good headset for LAN parties and similar.
I did also like the positioning and functionality of the ‘in-line remote control’ which is perfect for every day use as well as gaming. The ability to turn the microphone on and off is very useful, but I’m not sure if the ‘low’ feature was really necessary as the microphone isn’t that sensitive so you will most likely need it on high.
While this headset doesn’t desperately stand out from the crowd, there is a genuine quality to it and it is also quite good value for money. Perfect product if you are a Medal of Honor fan! While this is not the best Steelseries has to offer it is still a very good product.
