SteelSeries Aerox 3 Super Light Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?
The SteelSeries AEROX 3 is available right now from SteelSeries and most major retailers for just £59.99. At the time of writing, it had sold out on Amazon UK, but you can keep an eye out for stock and prices here if you want to take advantage of Prime delivery, etc.
Overview
The price of this mouse is excellent. It’s a little more expensive than the Roccat Burst, Cooler Master MM710, MadCatz M.O.J.O M1 and the Tecware Exo Elite, which are all very well equipped ultra-light gaming mice. However, for just an extra £10, the SteelSeries AEROX 3 is the best of the bunch so far. That’s not to say the others weren’t impressive too, they are, but SteelSeries really went the extra mile with this mouse.
The Mountain Makalu 67 I reviewed is likely the closest rival to the AEROX 3, as both tried to do something more advanced and unique rather than simply just make it lighter.
Setting a New Standard
SteelSeries has produced so many class-leading mice over the years, and it’s always a joy to see that they’ve done it again. This isn’t just a nice evolution for an ultra-light gaming mouse, this feels like a step up for all gaming mice. The ergonomics are superb, well… if you’re right-handed. The weight is one of the lightest out there, by quite a margin. The cable is detachable and replicable, the RGB is excellent, and the build quality is a cut above the competition in general.
Stunning!
However, it’s the stunning True Move sensor, the PTFE Glide Skates, and the Golden Micro IP54 80M rated switches that really steal the show here. The mouse is exceptionally accurate at any DPI and any movement speed. The switches are defined and responsive, and overall… I’m struggling to think of any way they could have made it better. It’s one of the finest mice I’ve ever used and at just £60, it really does score top marks. I suspect we see a lot of eSports players holding one of these over the coming months.
