SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Super Light Mouse Review

SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Super Light Mouse Review

It seems every mouse that comes into the office these days is the latest and greatest ultralight. There’s no exception today, as I have the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless! It’s not been that long since I reviewed the wired model, and it was genuinely one of the best mice I’ve ever tested, and that’s really saying something! Now they’ve cut the cables, making it both light and free! However, does cutting the cable compromise on the performance? Well, that’s what I aim to find out.

It comes with two wireless modes, allowing you to choose between 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.0. 2.4 GHz provides you with a range of polling rates that can reach up to 1000 Hz / 1ms. This will provide you with gaming-grade performance with no latency using a wireless dongle that connects to your device. Bluetooth has a default polling rate of 125 Hz / 8ms and does not require a dongle on any Bluetooth 5.0 compatible devices. However, there’s a USB-C port on the mouse so you can use it wired and charge the device. However, with 80 hours in 2.4 GHz mode and 200 hours in Bluetooth mode, battery life isn’t a big issue here; unless you own mouse x, y, or z of course, ha!
