How Much Does it Cost?

At £99.99 the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Super Light Gaming Mouse isn’t particularly cheap, and it’s actually around £40 more than the wired version. However, given that it still delivers killer performance, 200 hours battery life, USB-C Fast Charging, dual connectivity modes and more, it’s actually not a bad investment at all. You pay up for it, but you’re getting an exceptionally high-quality product in return for your investment. That being said, the Logitech G Superlight is still £129, and there’s not a lot of competition for wireless mice under 75g that are from any major brands.

Overview

I really like this mouse, like really REALLY like it. It’s easily one of the most comfortable and natural feeling mice I’ve used in about two weeks. That’s not that long I know, but keep in mind, I did review the wired version too. It manages to be innovative with so many aspects, without taking away from a gaming mouse’s core expectations.

It has a very natural ergonomic feel, and in fairness, SteelSeries has a solid track record with their ergonomics anyway, so that’s of little surprise. It’s a general shape that works well for any grip type or play style, so grab it and go!

Setting a New Standard

The lightweight design is impressive and only being 9g heavier than the weird version is especially impressive. Even then, it’s lighter than most other ultralight gaming mice anyway. For example, the Rival 600 was 96g with all the weights removed and 128g with the weights installed, which would make that double the weight! We used to weight tune our mice, but really, we’re learning lighter is better (more often than not).

Build Quality

This mouse does not compromise. They removed weight in smart ways, such as designing a new slimmer and more robust PCB, added newly designed switches, a new lightweight sensor design and even a slimmer batter. However, they also made sure everything else was more efficient so that the battery life still increased! They shed material by cutting holes in the body, but also made sure to meet the IP54 standards. The result is one of the best gaming mice on the market today.

Should I Buy One?

No. Actually, that’s a bit blunt. If you want one of the best gaming mice money can buy, buy the wired version, it’s absolutely fantastic and around half the price of this model. However, while £99 may seem expensive, there’s nothing out there right now that this light, with this level of performance, and such impressive battery life to compete with this, so if you’re a fan of wireless, you’ll definitely want this one!
