SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless Gaming Headset Review

Final Thoughts
Price
The SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless launches today with an MSRP of £299.99. That’s not exactly loose change, but this isn’t a headset that was designed to be affordable, it was designed to be the best. It’s certainly up there with the price of premium flagship models for their rivals, so I wouldn’t say it was overpriced if anything it’s a better deal than most with its high-end DAC/Amp combo. A good standalone DAC/Amp can easily start from £100-300, and way beyond for enthusiast stuff.
Overview
I have reviewed many headsets over the years, and every now and again, one will come along that raises the bar. Admittedly, that hasn’t happened much in the last few years, but more recently, it seems every company is stepping up their game. This is especially true for SteelSeries, who’ve responded in force with the Arctis series, which is easily one of the finest headsets I’ve ever had the pleasure of using.
Build Quality
The Arctis Pro Wireless is faultless when it comes to their design. The build quality is incredibly rugged and beautifully finished. There’s no silly RGB, no garish design features for the “gamers”, or anything. It’s just a nice pair of quality headphones, with premium build materials. Aluminium, soft-touch panels, matte finishes, it’s all just how I like it.
Hi-Res
The audio processing is as good as you could ask for on a consumer product. With the processing of high-resolution audio formats fully supported, as well as the drivers that are capable of producing a range greater than human hearing, you’re unlikely to miss out on any of the sounds from your favourite multimedia.
DAC and AMP
The base unit is one of the coolest features. It packs in loads of connectivity to ensure you never miss out on the action. You can quickly pair up other optical devices, 3.5mm devices, Bluetooth and more. With the built-in controls, you can set your EQ, volume levels, surround processing and more in seconds too.
Should I Buy One?
At this price range, I can’t recommend it to everyone, as not everyone is willing to spend that much. For your average consumer and gamer, the older and more affordable SteelSeries headsets are still some of the best around. However, for those with the audiophile spark who want no compromise on performance, capabilities, connectivity and more, you’ll be damn hard pushed to find anything that beats the Arctis Pro Wireless for less money. By far the finest headset we’ve reviewed in years, and that’s certainly saying something!
