SteelSeries Ikari Laser Mouse Review
The Ikari comes in a rather large black cardboard box with dark orange/red text it is over twice the dimensions (width and length) of the mouse itself.
The windowed front has been designed specifically to allow you to feel the shape of the mouse before you buy as it has a vacuum formed plastic cover for the mouse; a very sensible and clever idea as pictures are certainly not enough in the professional gaming environment.
On the front left hand side is the list of the main features in 4 different languages (English, French, Spanish and German), as well as a review and recommendation by PC Gamer.
The back of the box includes a more detailed explanation of the features listed on the front, again in the 4 languages, with a few extras including the LCD display. It also contains the mouse specifications which can be seen in more detail on the next page, as well as some insight into SteelSeries’ history and expertise.
The left-hand side gives some of the features again but this time in 6 different languages, whereas on the right-hand side the real self-promoting for SteelSeries takes place with the listings of all their certifications and recommendations from various well known companies.
As is the case with nearly all peripherals it comes with the standard and surprisingly thin user guide consisting of only 13 pages as well as a software CD. There is also a booklet containing SteelSeries’ professional gaming gear range of products.
Just want to congratulate you on your first article, you've done a really good job 🙂
Not sure on the screen at the bottom apart from bragging right and putting funny messages about your friends.
The screen at the bottom is genuinely useful, if your in a middle of the game it is very easy to pause it, and adjust the CPI settings for the current profile you are on, without having to load up the options menus or even quit the game. This screen allows you to adjust it, and to know what you've set it to without having to load up the software every time.Simonp.s. Defniitely for the funny messages about your friends…but it is very limiting character wise :'Andy=cool' fits but apart from that….
