SteelSeries Prime Mini eSports Mouse Review

SteelSeries are still one of the top choices for gamers around the world, and certainly one of the most popular eSports brands too. They’ve had quite a few of the best gaming mice, headsets and more for as long as I can remember, and that trend is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Recently, I reviewed the SteelSeries Prime Mini Wireless, one of the lightest, fastest and best equipped eSports-ready gaming mice on the market today. However, its price tag was pretty shocking at around £130, so imagine how excited I am now to find out the wired version is less than half that price!

SteelSeries Prime Mini

This mouse is seriously cool, taking the fantastic design of the SteelSeries Prime, one of their most successful gaming products ever, and making it even better! It’s smaller, hence the mini, but only by around 7%. The materials used are stronger and lighter, leaving the mouse at just 61 grams, which is extremely light! However, you still get their new “crispy clicks” with the Prestige Optical Magnetic Switches, and since I reviewed the wireless version with the same switches, I can already tell you, they’re pretty dope. However, there’s also their new TrueMove Pro sensor, a detachable cable, and more. So, let’s dive in for a closer look!

Features

  • Another first in esports – Prestige Optical Magnetic Switches are the most consistent and reliable switches for competitive play
  • 61g ultra lightweight and mini form factor designed with top esports pros
  • Pro grade precision tracking with the TrueMove Pro gaming sensor
  • On-board customization with pre-set polling rates and CPI profile settings
  • Detachable super mesh cable for quick swipes and feather-light feel

What SteelSeries Had to Say

“A world’s first in esports, the Prestige OM™ optical magnetic switch technology is built specifically to withstand intense pro-level play. Industry-leading and rated for 100 million clicks, our custom neodymium magnets deliver our most consistent mouse clicks ever while an infrared light beam delivers lightning-fast response times in-game.” – SteelSeries
