SteelSeries Prime Mini Wireless eSports Mouse Review

A Closer Look & Performance

This mouse looks pretty awesome from the moment you take it out of the box. I was a little concerned about the price, but after handling it, you can see and feel that it’s a premium quality product. It uses an ABS-Polycarbonate shell, and it has a fairly unique shape to it too, with some interesting ergonomic bumps and curves that should make it very easy to control.

There are two buttons down the left side, with a rolled shape that’ll allow you to easily control them with a push or by sliding your thumb front either side.

Down the right side, There’s a swell that forms a finger rest, but of course, this is a right-handed only mouse.

The top features the two main switches, as well as a surprisingly large scroll wheel. It’s a heavily recessed wheel though, allowing it to stay larger, but not be obtrusive. It features a soft rubber grip and a click that’s designed to be lighter and quieter than the main switches.

The LBM and RMB both feature a heavily scooped design, which will ensure your fingers rest naturally in the middle of the control surface, giving you even greater control.

On the underside, you’ll find plenty of pads to provide an effortless glide to the mouse. It’s already a very light mouse though, so it hardly needs it, but it certainly can’t hurt. There’s a little notch on them too, so you can use a small tool to remove and replace them if/when they wear out.

There’s no DPI button or anything like that on top of the mouse, a common choice for competitive gamers. However, there’s a master profile button on the bottom of the mouse, should you need to make any changes. It’s a fully programmable mouse though, so you can tinker with the button layout, RGB, DPI, and all the usual stuff if you desire.
