Steelseries Rival 100 Pro Gaming Mouse Review

Final Thoughts

Price

I’ve praised the performance of this mouse, but let’s get to its greatest feature; it’s price. You can pick up the Rival 100 for just £24.95 from Overclockers UK, and while some retailers have stock for around £35, both are a bit of a bargain, given that it competes with mice like the Zowie FK1, which is closer to £50 RRP.

Overview

SteelSeries have a strong reputation in the gaming community and perhaps even more so in the eSports community, and their latest gaming mouse is just one of many products they’ve brought to market that is perfect for competitive gaming. The performance on this mouse is simply fantastic, easily giving enough precision and performance to take on products that and twice its price and beyond. The custom developed sensor is silky smooth, the switches are quick and responsive and games are going to love it.

The build quality is great, with a mixture of softer grippy surfaces and hard-wearing textured surfaces, both of which provide you with a comfortable and firm grip on the mouse. The ergonomics and great for fingertip and claw grip gamers and the lightweight design means it’s fast, nimble and not tiring to use for long gaming sessions.

How SteelSeries has pulled off this level of performance and flawless build quality is unknown, as the mouse is very wallet friendly and while it’s got the spec for professional gaming needs, it’s going to attract a lot of people who simply don’t want to spend a crazy amount of money on a peripheral.

Pros

  • Great build quality
  • Excellent sensor performance
  • Easy to use software
  • Gamesense
  • RGB lighting
  • Lightweight design
  • Affordable price
  • Fully programmable switches

Cons

  • None

“The SteelSeries Rival 100 is without a doubt one of the best gaming mice on the market today. Not only does it deliver competitive performance, build quality and style, it comes at a price point that is going to be very hard to beat.”
