SteelSeries Rival 310 Trumove3 Optical Gaming Mouse Review

SteelSeries Rival 310

As one of the leading gaming brands in the world, big things are expected from SteelSeries. Many of their gaming mice, headsets, keyboards and more are regarded as some of the best in the world. They’ve got many winning gaming teams around the world that rely on their hardware. Plus, there are many at home gamers who swear by their products. Now SteelSeries is back again with what may be their best mouse to date, not in terms of features, but in terms of raw sensor performance.

Building on their existing Rival gaming mouse, the 301 features their latest Trumove3 technology. The sensor in this mouse is built exclusively for SteelSeries and has been crafted to deliver true 1-to-1 tracking. Basically, if you miss a headshot, it’s your own damn fault, not the mouse. That’s certainly something I look forward to testing on this mouse. Just how accurate can this sensor be in the real world?

“TrueMove3 is a 12,000 CPI, 350 IPS optical sensor built exclusively with industry leader PixArt. Instead of focusing on CPI alone, TrueMove3 was engineered for true 1-to-1 tracking. Moving a specific distance on a mousepad results in the same exact distance on screen, without introducing latency, interpolation, or affecting jitter reduction.” – SteelSeries

With a new sensor, split-trigger buttons, Omron switches, and durable grips, it certainly has everything we would expect from a competitive gaming mouse. Now let’s jump in and take a closer look at what it has to offer!
