A Closer Look

The mouse looks absolutely fantastic and follows on from similar designs we’ve seen in the Rival series from uhm, Steelseries. The most important thing I can see here is that the LMB and the RMB are mounted on their own panels. This means they have their own pivots and springs, meaning there is no chance of feedback from one to the other. They’re fitted with really tactile switches too, which Steelseries say are rated for 60 million clicks. I don’t have the time to test it THAT much, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Down the left side of the mouse, there’s quite a lot going on. For starters, we have the usual forward/backwards navigation buttons. However, there’s also an extra button towards the front that could be used for macros, or even as a sniper button for FPS gaming. The whole mouse is programmable anyway, so how you setup each button is really up to your own imagination and needs.

Another thing I love is the multi-surface design. Not only is it visually appealing, but it’s also practical. The large rear section of the mouse features a hard-wearing rubber, it’s both smooth and grippy at the same time, and will highly benefit those who get sweaty palms while gaming. This is matched with more grip coating on the LMB and RMB. However, the mid sections as a hard wearing metallic looking plastic, but have much softer rubber side grips that will benefit fingertip grip styles.

There’s a huge cutaway down the middle of the mouse, showing a nice large scroll wheel in the centre. Again, this has a nice rubber tread grip, giving you easy control of it. It’s got a nice weight to the wheel, but it’s very easy to spin and has a clear tactile stepping bump to it that’ll help with precise weapon selections while gaming. Tucked behind that, another programmable switch, which is set to DPI levels by default.

The mouse cable features a custom header on it, that locks very firmly into this recess. Obviously, you don’t want the cable pulling free while you game, so I’m happy to see that taken care of.

Finally, on the base, you can see three large slipmats will provide added glide. However, they have small tool-holes so you can pop them out and replace them should you need to. Meanwhile, the middle of the mouse features their lovely dual-sensor TruMove 3 sensor.
