A Closer Look

There’s quite a lot going on with the Rival 700, with the left side featuring an OLED display towards the front, a durable rubber grip section, and two high-quality side buttons. The curvy shape of the mouse lends its self well to palm, claw, and fingertip grip play styles.

The top cover of the mouse has a really cool pattern and a hard-wearing finish that’s comfortable in your hand and also looks stunning. The Steelseries logo at the back is nice and large and featured RGB lighting to give it some added flair.

Down the right side, more ergonomic curves that help give the Rival 700 its universal grip support, and even more of that durable rubber grip coating so it doesn’t slip from your fingers.

The LMB and RMB are both mounted on their own panels for optimal control and come with a recess on each button and a soft touch rubber coating for extra control.

The mouse wheel has a soft rubber grip, meaning it’s super easy to control even though it’s heavily recessed into the mouse. Behind the wheel, another control button, perfect for tweaking DPI or profiles.

Overall, the build quality is rock solid and the mixture of textures gives it a stylish look, but also provide great practicality in terms of grip.

Toward the front of the mouse, you’ll find a small USB port for the detachable cable, while the middle of the mouse has room for the sensor. What’s really cool is that while the mouse comes with a 3360 optical sensor, you can remove the sensor and swap it out for a laser module, giving you the best of both worlds and a unique way of making this mouse yours.

The detachable cables lock firmly in place, and with a choice of the lightweight rubber cable or the durable braided cable, you’re sure to find the one that best suits your needs.
