SteelSeries Siberia V3 Gaming Headset Review

Performance
I’ve never been disappointed with the performance of the SteelSeries Siberia range and the V3 is no exception. Much like the V2 headset, the drivers on the V3 are punchy, with a thick bass and excellent clarity. When it comes to gaming, you’ll find the V3 sound fantastic, with punchy lows, clear highs and plenty of detail in between, making them ideal for frantic games such as Battlefield that are thick with thundering sound effects.
The microphone performance is nothing exceptional, but it is very good. It provides clear chat audio, if a little bright sounding, that is distortion free. The drivers on the headset are good for listening to your team-mates too, giving nice natural tones. The only downside being that there is no volume controls on the headset. The V2 had a basic volume control on the cable and it’s a shame to see that this has been removed.
Music and movies are great on this headset, nothing that makes me go “wow” in the way a dedicated music headset would, but certainly nothing wrong either. If you’re planning on enjoying a few albums while you’re at your computer, or maybe a film on your laptop while you’re on the train, the V3 are more than up to the task.
The main bonus for this headset is the comfortable fit. It’s so light on your head that you would be likely to forget it is there. When you’re watching a movie, or burning through the night on a long gaming session, you’ll be happy you invested in the V3.
