Stellar Blade will be released uncensored across all regions, including Japan. The game’s official Twitter channel confirmed this, reassuring fans that the same version will be available globally.
This announcement comes as a relief, especially since other PlayStation titles have faced regional censorship issues. Stellar Blade is set to debut exclusively on PS5 on April 26.
Adding to the anticipation, a demo for Stellar Blade was launched on March 29, receiving overwhelming attention. The demo alone attracted nearly 690,000 daily active users, with some gamers logging over 50 hours of playtime. The developers have encouraged players to approach the demo gently due to its immense popularity.
Esteemed director Yoko Taro, known for the Nier series, praised Stellar Blade, rating it higher than his own game, Nier: Automata. According to Taro, Stellar Blade surpasses Nier in terms of game quality and design. He highlighted the next-gen graphics and the unique character designs by Mr. Kim, expressing particular admiration for the attractive male and female characters that enhance the gaming experience.
Taro also mentioned a specific element that usually bothers him in RPGs—the close-up shot of the shopkeeper. However, he found the shopkeeper in Stellar Blade so charming that it overrode any other design considerations. This detail might seem minor, but it contributes significantly to the immersive experience Stellar Blade aims to offer.
