Story Remix is Bringing Movie Maker Back to Windows 10

Excellent News! – As part of the much-anticipated Fall Creators Update to Windows 10, we are finally getting a film editing software program. Story Remix is set to fill the void since many users converted to Windows 10.
What is Story Remix?
Story Remix will be Windows Movie Maker, with a lot more bells and whistles. Given the recent inclusion of 3D programs in the Spring Creators update, Story remix is set to incorporate these programs allowing it to be a fully functional 3D video editing software.
Windows Movie Maker always had a loyal fan base. The lack of its inclusion to Windows 10 was rather vexing, to say the least. Although you can get Windows Movie Maker on Windows 10, it is via an awkward backdoor method. You will not find it included in the Windows Store. Story Remix is set to be an updated and welcome return to form for video editing software.
Is it going to be better than Windows Movie Maker?
The promotional video suggests yes, in every conceivable way. Window Movie Maker was a great, user-friendly product for those unfamiliar with video editing software to create basic, but decent, home movies. It was not a sophisticated piece of software. What it did, however, it did well. While Story Remix might look a little more daunting, Microsoft is evidently seeking to keep the user-friendly aspect behind it. Having personally used some high-end video editors (Sony Vegas, Aftereffects, Adobe Premier etc.) I’m not expecting it to compete on the same level. It is, however, looking to be a great convenient companion and I’m sure we’re going to see some amazing creations from it.
Where can I download it?
You can’t yet. Sorry to be a tease.
It is expected to be released as part of the fall update to the Windows 10 Creation Suite. Although details of the fall release are still pending confirmation, it would look to be an update which builds on the so fall excellent features of the Spring Update. If this is a sample of what’s coming though, I’m excited that I’m a PC and not a MAC.
