It’s almost time to embrase the CHAOS, of CHAOS in the game with CHAOS… if you know, you know. Square Enix has revealed that Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC, however, I’m unsure if this is a timed exclusive, or if it’s going to live there forever. That’s bad news for Steam loyalists, but it is what it is.
Furthermore, we now know the game’s official PC minimum and recommended requirements, and they’re surprisingly modest. That’s a good thing too, given the path to upgrading to high-end hardware has been a hard one this last few years. For gaming at 720p with 30FPS, they recommend an AMD Ryzen 5 1400 or Intel Core i7-6700 with 8GB of RAM. For the graphics card, an AMD Radeon RX 470 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 will get the job done just fine! However, moving up to 1080p and 60FPS, you’ll want basically any modern quad-core CPU. They suggest an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel Core i7-8700 and 16GB of RAM. The graphics card will need to be an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER or above too, which is still pretty reasonable, overall.
You’ll also need around 80GB of free hard-disk space, which is a lot, but that’s hardly uncommon these days either. The game will support DirectStorage on PC too, albeit, I’ve yet to see what this is going to mean in the real world. However with a March 18th release date, we won’t have long to wait and find out!
“We’re Strangers. That means two things: One, we’re strangers to this world. And two, we’re strangers to ourselves.” The four fiends of chaos are waiting. As you battle the darkness consuming the world, recover your past and discover your true purpose. With a multitude of job classes, abilities, and combos you can face the hordes of darkness your way!
