Streacom Adds Fanless Discrete GPU Option to DB4 Chassis

Streacom, known for their high-end fanless PC chassis solutions has an update for their DB4 line. It is a passive cooling attachment for discrete video cards allowing for a completely fanless build. Discrete video cards are the final frontier when it comes to creating a fanless build. Even passively-cooled power supplies have several options to choose from. However, even passively cooled entry level gaming cards are hard to come by. Which is why the new Streacom DB4 video card cooler uses massive heatpipes to do the cooling.

The passive heatsink uses four massive 8mm copper heatpipes in a C-type configuration. Unlike regular heatsinks with aluminum fin array radiators however, the Streacom solution takes advantage of the aluminium chassis construction. That means it dissipates the heat through the chassis body rather than relying on airflow to disperse heat.

This heatsink attaches via spring loaded locking mechanisms which securely lock it onto the PCB. There are also aluminium heatsinks for the individual memory chips. The TDP limit is apparently 75W.

Pricing Information and Release Date

According to Fanless Tech who exclusively revealed the news, Streacom is putting the finishing touches on the product, but there is no set release date yet. Pricing information will be updated once more information is available.
