Street Fighter V is Finally Getting an Arcade Mode

After several rumours and leaks, it is finally official that Street Fighter V is getting an arcade edition. Normally, a fighting game should already have one built in. It has been that way since the beginning of fighting games back in the arcade days (hence the name). When Street Fighter V came out however, CAPCOM decided that it should only have competitive versus gameplay. While this is not a bad news for competitive players, it is problematic for casual players.
What made it worse is the fact that CAPCOM decided to only offer additional characters through DLCs. Although players can still opt to buy it with the “fight money” in game currency, these can only be earned by winning a lot of matches. Which means in the end, casual players would have to pay a lot more just so they have more options of characters that they can be beaten with.
Fans have been demanding a proper game mode ever since SFV was announced, so finally they will get one come January 2018.
Street Fighter V Arcade Mode Features
Arcade Mode will let players fight against characters from different entries in the Street Fighter series. This includes SF1 through SFV, including Alpha. This comes as a free update to the existing SFV game. To further entice players who skipped SFV into finally buying it CAPCOM will be offering everything as a stand-alone game as well. By everything I mean all the characters fully unlocked from Season 1 and Season 2, and all the updates for just $39.99 USD. That is the normal price now for the game on Steam (originally $59.99 USD). So fans do not have to wait until the launch date for the lower price. Additionally, the update will also bring an upgraded UI, Extra Battle, Gallery as well as new V-trigger modes. The update will arrive on January 16, 2018.
