Team Mojang will be releasing the Super Duper graphics pack for Minecraft some time next year. This update brings a significant graphics overhaul to the popular block-oriented graphics of Minecraft. It was initially unveiled at Microsoft’s E3 press conference with expectations of release within 2017.
In the words of Team Mojang themselves, this optional update crams an excessive amount of “visual razzmatazz”. This includes dynamic shadows, fluttering foliage, sparkling water ripples, shimmering sun rays through clouds and more. It will also add directional lighting, edge highlighting and “loads of other kinds of lighting” most people do not understand. Simply put, the game will look much better, although still distinctively still looking like Minecraft.
While the developers are working on getting the technical aspects working properly, they have made a Super Duper Minecraft musical video to tide over some fans. It features none other than Supergirl herself Melissa Benoist (albeit not in the Supergirl costume). She shows off her musical background in the video, a talent which many of her long time fans are aware of since her days at Glee. The video also showcases the graphical update in motion. Which is much better than just staring at static photos. Plus, it is hard not to look at Melissa Benoist as well.
