One of our favourite creators and modders, CryZENx, is at it again this week, releasing yet another fantastic video of his latest Unreal Engine 4 creations. Some may say these are bloody pointless, but we’ve had many hours of fun playing around in the scenes from Zelda, Mario, Sonic and many others that have been released so far, and soon it looks like we’ll be adding Super Mario Sunshine to that collection.
Given that many of the games CryZENx has worked on won’t be seeing a PC release, usually only playable with emulation or the original consoles, and even then not with the kind of graphics and features creating them again in Unreal Engine 4 can offer us.
The latest video gives us a taste of what it would look like, and play like, if Super Mario Sunshine were to get a modern-day PC release and once again, it leaves us salivating over the idea. Unfortunately, the “demo” isn’t actually available to download right now, but CryZENx has said that he plans to release the Mario map alongside his other recently teased Nintendo/Unreal Engine 4 project for Luigi’s Mansion.
“Download link will be coming in my subspecial, just like the Luigis Mansion :)” – CryZENx
What games would you love to see recreated in Unreal Engine 4, or any modern game engine for that matter? For me, it would be some of the harder to find games like Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, Pandemonium and a whole bunch of weird PlayStation 1 releases that I fear may be lost to the history books pretty soon.
The demo below was running on an i5 4210, GTX 960M and 16GB of RAM.
