Super Talent announce their new USB 3.0 DataGuardian

Super Talent have decided to bring security and ease-of-use with their latest secure flash drive; the DataGuardian USB 3.0.

Coming at an affordable price as well as being small, it’s also a very easy to use secure flash drive, in other words, it’s the opposite of what most secure flash drives offers today.

The password protection is no trouble, no software is required, plugging in the device will start the application stored in the drive automatically and you just have to enter your password to access your data. Unplugging the drive will secure it back, allowing for the peace of mind. If your ever forget your password, just get Super Talent’s software, it will reset it to factory default, keep in mind you’ll lose your data during the process.

The USB 3.0 ability is welcome, this allows for read speeds of up to 85MB/s and write speed of up to 40MB/s. Just as every other USB 3.0 devices, it is backward compatible, no worry about that neither, and the USB 2.0 performances have been optimized as well.

Measuring just 70mm x 18mm x 8mm, it doesn’t take much space, and has been given a sleek aluminium case with a protective cap and key ring attachment, this will avoid losing it.

Here’s a video presenting the product:

The DataGuardian USB 3.0 comes in 8, 16 and 32GB, each with a 10 year data integrity and a 1 year warranty.

Not much was announced, although we’ve been able to found a price of $24 for the 8GB and a release of October.
