At the time of writing, there is more than a little uncertainty as to exactly when Nvidia’s next-generation of 40XX graphics cards will arrive. Some sources cite an initial October release with the 4090. Others believe (again citing sources) that the entire series might not drop now until early 2023 due to 30XX currently being too high!
Following a report via Videocardz, however, one supplier seems pretty adamant that the Nvidia 40XX release is just around the corner. Why? Well, they’re claiming that their first shipment of graphics cards is due to arrive next month!
We should note, for the sack of downplaying any hyperbole, that the information from this source is, in many respects, more than a little unclear. For example, they don’t specify whether they’re talking about retail stock or ‘reference’ stock presumably on its way for mass production with an AIB partner.
The key point, however, is that regardless of the intended destination, 40XX graphics cards are leaving Nvidia to go to other sources ahead of release. With this in mind, therefore, while this still doesn’t answer exactly when they’ll be dropping, this does seem to suggest that at least one GPU is guaranteed for 2022 (perhaps more), and additionally, that the previously rumoured October release date might be right on the money!
