Packaging and Unboxing
The SWDVK-449802 kit comes in a full-colour package. The outsides tell and show you everything you’ll want to know, from features to looks.
The rear side has the most information, among it what’s in the box and why you should have a security system in the first place.
As you open the box, you’ll be asked to stop and read. Everything is packed and built to make it as easy as possible. If you follow the colours, it will be.
Inside are two smaller boxes that contain all the parts. One has the cameras, and one has the DVR kit.

The first box I opened has all the cameras. They’re neatly and securely packed away.
There is a cable for each of the cameras. The cables carry the video signal as well as the power for the cameras.
There are two cameras in this kit; other kits come with four. Either way, the included DVR box supports four.
There is a power supply for the cameras and splitter which allows you to power two cameras with one power supply.
There’s also a mounting kit for the cameras. Place the sticker on the wall, drill the three holes, and mount the cameras with the included screws. The other included tool allows you to adjust the camera angles at three places.
There’s also a warranty notice and declaration of conformity. All the legal stuff that’s needed.

The second box contains the DVR and its accessories.
The DVR isn’t anything fancy to look at as such; it is effective. It still looks quite nice with its rounded corners and overall design. Design is always subjective and personal, but I like it.
There’s a power supply, a network cable and an HDMI cable included. Everything you need to hook it up and get going.
Well almost all. You need some sort of input device and for this Swann included a small USB mouse. It’s far from anything fancy, but it does its job. You can always replace it with something else if you wish to do so, but there is no need. Everything you need is in the box!
I talked about colours above, and this is where they come into play. There are three setup notes included, and you should start with the blue. It will help you install the hardware as such.
The second note is to get everything up and running, once it’s connected.
The third note is optional, and it is for those who wish to install the mobile app.
We also get a declaration of conformity and warranty notice with this device.
If you don’t dare to install it yourself, let a professional do it for you. There’s also an ad for that included. Naturally, that is at an extra cost, but that’s a given.
There are three warning stickers included with the kit. You can place them on windows, doors, or where ever you see fit and warn burglars that your premises are under video surveillance.
