Swiftech Introduces AMD TR4 Version of SKF Waterblock
Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
Swiftech debuted their SKF Heirloom series waterblocks recently. It supports all of the current CPU sockets available except for one: AMD’s Threadripper TR4 socket. That is understandable since AMD’s Threadripper has a massive surface area so typical waterblocks and heatsink contact surfaces are inadequate. The Threadripper CPU is essentially twice as big as a Ryzen AM4 CPU so to properly cool it, users have to look for blocks that claim a “full coverage”. There are “Threadripper compatible” mounts out there such as Asetek’s solution, but those basically have the same block size with just a TR4 compatible mounting hardware.
The Swiftech Apogee SKF-TR4 Heirloom is also highly customizable. Users can choose between black or white chrome as well as yellow, matte and rose gold body finish options. The cover plate is available with six color options including black, silver, red, green, blue, and magenta. The Swiftech logo finish color is customizable with 8 color options as well. Finally, the mounting bracket hardware is also available in either white or black. For further personalization, a custom engraving option is available for an addition $4.95 USD.
