Swiftech is one of the most important names in the water cooling industry and has such a rich history in this field creating innovative CPU blocks, copper radiators, and other premium solutions. The company’s latest product may look familiar if you’ve encountered Swiftech’s latest all-in-one range which comes with the Apogee XL2 water block as standard. Thankfully, the Apogee XL2 is now available to purchase separately and become an essential part of a custom loop. As Swiftech’s new flagship water block, it has a lot to live up to and initial impressions are very positive. The product has a clear acrylic top and RGB multicolour illumination which combine to create a spectacular finish.
Not only that, Swiftech redesigned the coolant channel to have reduced flow restriction compared to the previous generation Apogee XL by 5%. As you might expect, the block supports G1/4 fittings, allows you to customise the lighting via the Iris RGB controller and accommodates all major CPU sockets including LGA2011x, LGA115x, LGA1366, AM3(+), and FM2(+). In terms of pricing, the standard model will retail for $49.95 while the slightly cheaper unit without the Iris module has a recommended price of $44.95. This is a very reasonable price given the stylish block and exemplary materials.
