CES 2016: Synaptics are one of those huge brands that you may not have heard of, but it’s most likely that you’ve used or are using their products on a daily basis. When it comes to sensors, trackpads and more, they’re the masters of their craft and if you’ve got a notebook with a touch mouse, or a fingerprint sensor, tracker or more, chances are that Synaptics made or designed it.
One of my personal favourites is the TteSports Poseidon Z Touch, which comes with a SmartBar. You can slide and pinch control the space bar, allowing you to select things, change volume, zoom and more.
This is only a mockup, but a sensor has been installed into this Corsair keyboard. This means you can have a private system fingerprint scanner; no more password reminders for you!
The IronVeil sensor is just limited to a keyboard either, as it can easily be deployed into a huge range of products. Here you can see that Synaptics have installed one into some very popular gaming mice, albeit just to prove it can be done. With quick online payments becoming more common, as well as people being hacked or passwords being insecure, this is a great little tool and one that could pave the way for more security for your desktop.
Would you use a fingerprint sensor on your computer?
