Synology DS419slim 2.5″ 4-Bay Mini NAS Review

The Packaging
I knew that the DS419slim was a small device, but I was still surprised by the size of the package when I received this in the mail. The box isn’t much larger than an HDD when it’s placed up against the box.
I really like Synology’s packaging as it isn’t a full-colour printed box. There really is no need for that and it’s a waste of resources in my opinion. Instead, it’s a relatively plain brown box with a sticker on the front. The sticker has all the vital information about the NAS such as feature highlights and intended usage.
Despite the simple box, Synology still put useful information on all sides. Here we see the hardware specifications along with the package content.
More feature highlights are placed on the other sides which include the Multimedia function, Mobile Support, Data Security, File Sharing, Anywhere Access, and Cloud Synchronisation.
Opening up the box and we find all the accessories on top with the NAS placed securely and firmly below. It’s well packed to make sure that everything arrives in perfect condition. Just the way it should be.
Included Accessories
Speaking of accessories, this is what you’ll find inside the box. There is an AC/DC power adapter, two RJ45 network cables, a quick installation guide, and screws to mount your four 2.5″ drives.
