Synology has today introduced its new 2-bay DiskStation DS223j as a part of its entry-level J series NAS devices.
The DS223j is a 2-bay NAS which is ideal for home or small office environments. With two storage bays, the DS223j is capable of supporting up to 36 TB of raw storage all of which can be managed securely, anytime and anywhere using cross-device access. This is all achieved through the use of the DSM operating system which includes a multitude of backup, file-sharing and syncing applications.
Compared to its predecessors, the DS223j is more powerful and capable of handling more demanding tasks and more simultaneous users. In testing, users can expect more than 180% faster file indexing in Synology Drive and over 200% faster image indexing in Synology Photos. Additionally, this NAS is the first J-series device to support the Btrfts file system. This file system enables file self-healing to mitigate data corruption plus comes with Synologys Snapshot Replication feature so users can reverse unwanted or accidental file changes.
“The DS223j is an excellent NAS for small environments, be they home offices or even a bit larger,” said Michael Wang, Product Manager at Synology Inc. “With the DS223j, customers get energy-efficient hardware coupled with all the data management and protection tools they’ll need to effectively manage their files.”
The Synology DS223J is available now from Synology partners and resellers, visit synology.com for more information.
