Tactus Group Files Hit With Late Filing of Accounts Notice

Tactus Group owns quite a few brands, including Box.co.uk, CCL and a few others. Just two months ago Box.co.uk filed for administration following a lawsuit, which we covered here. The short version is that Tactus bought them for £32m, and the ex-owners were then sued by Tactus (their new owner) for £18m for allegedly over-inflating their value before being purchased.

Late Company Filing

Well, it seems that may have been the beginning of the end, as now the Tactus Group themselves, due to failing to provide company accounts in the allotted time, has led to a proposal to strike off at Companies House. If they fail to complete these accounts, this could lead to a dissolution of the business. This also includes all the other companies listed below who currently have the same strike.

This means that their business will be struck off the record at Companies House and that the business will effectively be dead in the water. It also likely means that any current directors of Tactus and the companies it owns may not be able to be directors for at least five years. Of course, this also means that the administrators will likely come in to clear any debts, which from what we hear, is in the tens of millions, and most tragically of all, any employees would be out of a job, and unfortunately, that would hit quite a lot of people.

Tactus Group

Tactus Group are/were huge, and have quite a few major UK brands under their control. This includes one of my local PC retailers CCL Computers which I’ve used for decades. It includes the BIST Group, a B2B IT business, mendIT, a computer and mobile support company, Chillblast PC, a very popular system integrator, Horizon, Geo, and perhaps some others that I may have missed. Of course, Box.co.uk too, but they filed for administration a few weeks back.

Companies House

Looking through the Companies House records, it looks like all the brands, listed as Business I.T Support Team Limited, Tactus Limited, Decision Logic Ltd, and CCL Computers, are all showing as “accounts overdue” and that their company status is “Active — Active proposal to strike off” which is a First Gazette Notice due to their accounts not being filed on time. What Happens Next?

No official statement appears to have been posted by any of these businesses so far, however, much like Box.co.uk going under, there’s now a chance that orders placed at this time may not go fulfilled, however, I cannot confirm that to be a fact right now, but I think it’s fair to say the writing is on the wall, and it’s hard for a company that’s in such trouble to honour things like orders, warranties and other support structures to their customers.
