Take-Two Interactive, the publisher behind the highly anticipated GTA 6, has announced a release window of fall 2025. CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed strong confidence in this timeline, putting to rest rumors of a potential delay into 2026. Zelnick discussed this during an interview on CNBC, where he highlighted Rockstar Games’ focus on creating a unique gaming experience.
Zelnick emphasized that Rockstar is committed to delivering a game like no other. He noted that while bugs are a common issue in game development, the goal for GTA 6 is to achieve a level of perfection that goes beyond merely fixing technical issues. “It’s about creating an experience that no one has seen before,” Zelnick stated, adding that perfection is challenging to measure but is a primary objective for Rockstar.
Addressing questions about the internal development timeline, Zelnick mentioned that the number of bugs is a good indicator of how far along the game is. He acknowledged that the industry often faces delays but assured that the narrowed release window reflects their confidence in the current progress. “Well, there is slippage in the industry, and we’re not immune from that. However, we are highly confident in that timing,” he said.
There are hints that more information about GTA 6 might be released soon. Dataminers have found new API data on Rockstar’s website, suggesting that cover art and new screenshots could be unveiled shortly. This aligns with Rockstar’s history of releasing updates in May, raising anticipation for upcoming announcements.
