Take-Two Confirms GTA 6 Will Run Smoothly on Xbox Series S Despite Concerns

Currently, one of the most anticipated games in the industry is GTA 6, a title of which we have not seen much beyond the trailer shown by Rockstar Games almost a year ago. This is destined to appear on next-generation consoles such as PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, its arrival on the Xbox Series S has raised concerns among users, as many know it has not been the optimal platform for several market launches.

Take-Two Confident in Optimizing for Xbox Series S

Take-Two Interactive has confirmed they have no concerns about the console’s ability to run the game. CEO Strauss Zelnick clarified during a recent earnings call that despite technical challenges faced by other developers, they are confident their team can optimize the title for smooth performance. “Our labels are really good at that,” Zelnick stated. “I’m not really worried.”

The Xbox Series S, being the less powerful sibling to the Series X, has created complications for some developers in the past. Despite this, Zelnick reiterated his stance, saying he doesn’t focus on hardware limitations. Instead, his priority lies in delivering quality games on a variety of platforms. “I don’t worry about things over which I have zero control,” he elaborated. “The audience is going to show up if you have great properties, and so we just have to make sure to be on an array of platforms.”

Zelnick further explained that even if one platform diminishes in value, there are always alternatives with sustained growth. He pointed to the rise of PC gaming as an example of this trend, emphasizing the format’s open nature and ongoing expansion. “I do think PC will continue to be a more and more important part of the console business going forward, and that isn’t complicated for us to support at all,” he added.

While Zelnick expressed confidence in supporting various platforms, it is worth noting there has been no mention of a PC release for GTA 6 at this time.
