We would like to thank BeQuiet, Supermicro, Intel, Corsair, Kingston, and Lian Li for supplying us with our test system components
To allow for the fairest testing possible, I will be using as many different software applications as possible to test each drive. This ensures the most accurate results and increases the chance that it can help you making just the right drive decision.
Software used:
- AIDA64
- Anvil’s Storage Utilities
- ATTO Disk Benchmark
- CrystalDiskMark
Additionally I’ve used a Medion LifeTab S7322 running Android 4.4 to test the mobile and OTG functions. While this isn’t a device from the official compatibility list, any OTG enabled device will support this flash drive. OTG is also labeled as USB Host Function on some devices.
As additional information, I can add that many devices support OTG even though they aren’t labeled as such. Whether your smart devices supports OTG or not comes down to two factors, the USB chipset used and the internal wiring. Some might have the chip support like my Jolla smartphone, but the pins aren’t wired to provide power-out. The end result is simple, if the stick doesn’t get any power, it won’t work.
