Pricing

The Team Group M131 isn’t widely available yet, but I did find a few stores in my searches that carried it. With a price that starts at £5.88 for this 16GB model, this is a real steal. Other found prices range from £7.19 at DC Computers to £16.90 at ILGS. We will keep update with more information and US prices as they become available.

Overview

The Team Group M131 Dual Flash Drive is both compact and light, a drive you won’t notice at all that you’re carrying around. No excuse to not bring it along there, especially since you can just put it on your keychain. The two-in-one design protects the normal USB connector while the micro-USB connector is protected by a sliding mechanism. Another added bonus for people like me is the coating that prevents dirt from settling just as well as preventing fingerprints and other smudges.

On the side of transfer speeds, the M131 both impressed and not so much. The read speeds were on top with up to 22MB/s while the write speeds only got up to around 4MB/s. This isn’t particular impressive on its own, at least the write speeds. But coupled with everything else and the read speeds, it ended up impressing me.

The OTG adapter that is part of the M131 is an amazing thing to have around. It enables you to connect pretty much any USB compliant and driverless device. In my test I got my normal USB keyboard to work just as well as my wireless USB keyboard with nano-receiver. My mouse worked just as well as the keyboard, and that included the programmable and function keys such as page-back in browsers. Making everything even better, it also worked with every ordinary flash drive I had around and tested with.

Pros:

  • Great reading speeds for USB 2.0
  • OTG Adaptor is universally usable for other drives and input devices
  • Compact, light, and smart 2-in-1 design
  • Price, barely costs anything

Cons:

  • Write speeds sub-par

“Next time you head out to buy a new USB flash drive, you should look out for the Team Group M131 Dual Flash drive. Not only do you get an OTG and normal flash drive in one, but you get an incredible added functionality bonus due to the smart dual design with adapter.”
